Flag:

The Indian flag was designed as a symbol of freedom. The current flag was designed in 1947 after India gained independence from Great Britain. The flag is tri-color with equal parts. The colors are saffron on top, white in the middle, and green on the bottom. There is a navy blue wheel with 24 spokes in the middle of the white band. It indicates Dhama Chakra (wheel of law).
